Target & Biomarker Validation

Before embarking on a costly drug screening campaign or investing time and resources into a biomarker program, a key step is to build a strong case in favor of the target of interest. Criteria for validating a therapeutic target may vary from on lab to another. However, the inevitable step is the demonstration that the gene is expressed not only in the right organ but also in the right cell type, at the right time, under the right pathophysiological conditions.
